5 Baby-Friendly Vacation Destinations

by admin on March 8, 2011

It can be tough to take a vacation with a baby – what are you supposed to do with the baby when you’re busy with decidedly non-baby appropriate activities? Luckily for parents though, there are some places in the United States that are quite baby friendly, catering to both parents and babies at the same time. Here are five baby friendly vacation destinations for parents with babies and young children.

1. The Bahamas

One of the most popular vacation spots in the world just got better. The wonderful hotel the Atlantis Bahamas took it upon themselves to make vacationing with a baby easier. What the Atlantis did was partner up with the baby product company Johnson & Johnson to provide families with extra products and services. With this partnership, families staying at the Atlantis can order a huge variety of necessary baby items like bathtubs, strollers, and bottle warmers.

2. Sandpiper Bay, Florida

The local Club Med resort in Sandpiper Bay promotes itself as an all-inclusive family resort. It takes care of every member of the family, right down to the toddlers and babies with its Florida Baby Club Med program. This program is available for children from the age of four months up until twenty-three months. Your baby will engage in learning games, puppet shows and free play. There’s even a personal chef on the premises who makes fresh baby food. For those meals when you have your baby with you, you can sit in a special children’s corner equipped with anything you might need for your baby’s meal, from microwaves and bottle warmers to high chairs and booster seats.

3. Smugglers’ Notch, Vermont

Smugglers’ Notch is home to the Smugglers’ Notch Ski Resort, quite popular in the winter and summer with adults. For young kids, however, there’s Treasures, a professional childcare center. Parents can drop their infants and toddlers off while they ski, assured that their kids will be properly taken care of. Your babies will enjoy visiting Treasures, with the plentiful toys and fascinating fish tanks to gaze at.

4. Runaway Bay, Jamaica

This popular Jamaican tourist destination located near Ocho Rios. Many people know this place due to the Hedonism III nudist resort, but parents know Runaway Bay for the Franklyn D. Resort. You can buy a package at this hotel that includes a full time nanny, so you’re free to enjoy yourself knowing that your babies are in safe hands and enjoying their time as well.

5. Deer Valley, Utah

This ski resort is known as one of the top ski resorts in North America. Many people also enjoy skiing here because snowboarders are not allowed. So while you’re skiing to your heart’s delight, you can drop your baby off at the Children’s Center. The Children’s Center is a state licensed childcare facility that caters to children from the age of two months and up. The many activities available for children here include storytelling, art projects, singing and free playing.
